Business School Held 2016 Strategic Seminar

On November 10, 2016, Business School of Central South University held 2016 strategic seminar which invited experts and scholars with rich theoretical and practical experience in the academic field of economy and management as well as entrepreneurs to counsel for its future development. The participants of this seminar included Prof. Chen Guoqing, former executive vice dean of School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, Prof. Jia Jianmin, the chairman in the Department of Marketing at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Prof. Li Xinchun, former dean of Sun Yat-sen Business School, Prof. Mao Jiye, dean of School of Business of Renming University, Prof. Zhang Yuli, dean of School of Business, Nankai University, Pro. Su Jun, director of Center for Think Tank of Tsinghua University, Prof. Tan Yuejin, former dean of the College of Information System and Management of National University of Defense Technology, Prof. Jiang Jianxiang, deputy secretary of Party Committee of Central South University, Prof. Chen Xiaohong, president of Hunan University of Commerce and honorary dean of Business School of Central South University, Dr. Zou Gang, chief economist of Ameribankers Corp., Mr. Cheng Xin, General Manager of Hunan Xiangtou Investment Holdings Group Co., Ltd., Mr. Gu Jing, General Manager of Shenzhen Century–Sail Investment Group Co., Ltd., and Mr. Chen Zhiqiang, President of Better Life Group. Other attendants included the leadership, professor committee members and department directors of Business School. The seminar was chaired by Prof. Yu Daming, party secretary of School of Business.

On behalf of the University and the School, Professor Jiang Jianxiang, and Prof. Chen Xiaohong, Honorary Dean of Business School of Central South University, expressed welcome greetings and sincere thanks to all the participants. Then Prof. You Daming delivered a brief report on School’s status quo and development strategies.

After the report, experts and business representatives shared their opinions on the opportunities and challenges for our school during “Thirtieth Five-Year” period, the first-class discipline construction, the School’s vision and mission repositioning, internationalization, talent introduction and staff training, as well as social service. Taking “first-class university and academic program” construction as a strategic opportunity, they believed that the development of Business Schools shall focus on the individualized and various introduction and training of talents, especially promising young teachers, EDP and international programs,  curriculum and research projects concerning social responsibility and innovation as well as entrepreneurship.
